I saw a sign board at a church this morning that read "It's not what you gather but what you scatter that tells the most about how you've lived your life." Teaching is for me way of scattering, of giving generously. I love the moment of awakening when someone grasps a new idea. Or the sigh of relief when someone realizes that they are not alone in searching for meaning in their work. I had the opportunity to teach the "More than a Paycheck" workshop to a great group of people last month through the Academy for Social Well Being. The 2 hours flew by and I walked out into the summer evening feeling, for all my scattering, like I had received a great gift.
