Battling Disconnect, Part 1

In the search for meaning in life and in work, the greatest enemy is a sense of disconnection. When it seems as if you are the first and only seeker to walk/slog along on this path, you risk faltering or stopping all together. Guess what -- there is a web site to help! I also have poetry and philosophy to offer -- more on those perspectives in Parts 2 and 3 in this series.

For Part 1, I offer an example of a social networking site designed to battle disconnect. Tactics of Hope is a book and a website on social entrepreneurism. The website includes a social networking aspect where you complete your profile and are presented with individuals and organizations with similar interests. It's fun to use -- you drag and drop your passions to map their importance to you on your "circle", and then see how yours overlap with other people and organizations.

Take a step towards connection -- check it out at http://www.tacticsofhope.org.
